Q: Why don't I see brow waxing on your menu?
A: I specialize in Brazilian and intimate waxing.
Q: What type of wax do you use?
A: I use hard wax for all of The Sassy Peach Brazilian waxing. I believe it is the safest option for the type of hair and tissue we are waxing. Pubic hair is coarse and tough, which is what hard wax was designed to remove. Additionally, hard wax is designed to wrap around the hairs without adhering to your tissue. Soft wax (designed for finer, softer hair) sticks directly to the skin which can make bruising, welting and tearing of the tissue much more common (though you should be aware that these are potential side effects of any type of waxing).
Q: I started my period, do I need to reschedule?
A: Your period is not a contraindication for waxing. It's true that you may be more sensitive to the pain of waxing while on your period, so feel free to take a pain reliever or anti-inflamatory prior to your appointment. As long as you wear a tampon and cut the string off before your appointment (or tuck it discreetly away with the rest of the tampon), or wear a menstrual cup or diaphragm, you can still come in for your appointment. I understand that not everyone is comfortable keeping their Brazilian wax appointment while menstruating, that's fine, just remember to give 24hrs notice if you want to reschedule to avoid the cancellation fee.
Q: Will my hair grow in thinner?
A: Maybe for some women, but for the majority of us, probably not. If you come back for another wax within 4-6 weeks, your hair growth will be less dense, but given enough time it will usually all grow back to a pre-wax state.
Q: Is all the hair removed in The Sassy Peach Brazilian Wax?
A: The Sassy Peach's Brazilian removes all the hair from the external labia and the anal region. However, you can choose how much or how little hair you leave in the front. You can go totally bald, or you can keep a little martini glass or a narrow triangle of hair over the pubic bone, you tell me what you'd like to do. Traditionally, a Brazilian wax includes the anal region as well, but if you aren't comfortable with that, just let me know. I want you to be happy with the results.
Q: How long will I be hairless after a wax?
A: Typically you should be nice and clean for 1-1.5 weeks before seeing regrowth. There will always be a few stragglers (I'm only human after all) that you can tweeze the first week after a wax. Around the 2 week mark is where you'll start noticing steady regrowth.
Q: I'm getting ingrown hairs, but I've never gotten them before. What's happening?
A: Ingrown hairs happen. And sometimes they don't. My advice is to never expect spotless results after a wax, that way you won't be disappointed those times ingrown hairs rear their ugly heads. Brushing your skin with a rough body brush every day can help and there are products we can discuss that may help. Feel free to talk to me about your concerns during your next treatment and I can give you more tips to try to help prevent them.
Q: I developed a rash or pimples after my wax, can you help me?
A: Unfortunately, some people develop adverse reactions to waxing. Rash-like symptoms can be caused by any number of different things but, unfortunately, I am not a doctor and cannot legally diagnose anything. If you have a reaction after your wax that has you concerned, please see your doctor.
We do everything we can to protect your health during The Sassy Peach Brazilian wax service including wearing gloves, disinfecting tweezers and never double dipping the disposable wax sticks. However, waxing does have certain side effects such as skin removal or tearing, redness, swelling, bruising and tenderness, ingrown hairs, rashes etc.
These side effects are much more common with Brazilian and other intimate waxing due to the sensitive nature of the skin being waxed. It is important to be aware of these side effects prior to treatment. It is also important to watch your skin after a wax, especially if your skin was broken during the treatment, and make sure you see your doctor immediately if you show any signs of infection.
The Sassy Peach and it's owner/operator(s) are not affiliated with medical professionals in any way. If you have a reaction to any treatment (waxing, skin care or massage) at The Sassy Peach that has you concerned at all, please see your doctor for a proper medical diagnosis and treatment.
